My fellow Supervisors and I would like to take this opportunity to share with you some information and comments.
2012 will be the 325th birthday for Thornbury Township. We will be celebrating this momentous occasion on May 12th at Thornbury Park. Details will follow. Please try to keep that date open to help celebrate!
We will soon be changing the township website! We will be looking to add a section called “Residents Recipes”. Our goal will be to accumulate multiple recipes from our residents and have them organized accordingly. If you’re in the mood for soup and don’t know what to make, you will be able to go on our website and check out what soup recipe Jim Raith has to offer.
Once again our annual Halloween Parade and Fall Festival was a great success! Thanks to all of our participants who made this a memorable year. There were some incredible costumes for sure.
I would like to thank our township staff, particularly the Public Works Department, and the Park and Rec Board and all of the volunteers for all of their hard work putting the event together.
If you have any interest in serving on one of our boards or commissions please contact either myself or a member of our staff with a letter of interest and also let us know what interests you may have.
With the cold weather coming around the corner we will need to keep in mind possible snow. Keep your neighbors in mind should we experience a power outage. We must be aware of bad road conditions, please be careful while driving and obey all snow removal rules. If there are areas of concern, please contact the township and we will help in any way we can.
In closing, have a nice winter, and we will see you around town!
Jim Raith, Chairman
Board of Supervisors
