Draft EIS to be Published in September 2008
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has completed the analysis for the Philadelphia International Airport Capacity Enhancement Program (CEP) Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS). FAA will be distributing the document to Federal, state and local agencies and other interested parties during the last week of September.
Proir to distribution of the DEIS the FAA will be hosting a series of four Public Information Meetings on September 8-11, 2008 to give the public an opportunity to review the results of the environmental impacts analyses (such as noise, air quality, wetlands, etc.) of the CEP Alternatives in Philadelphia, and to speak with FAA representatives and their consultant team about the CEP EIS.
Following the September Public Meetings, four Public Hearing will be held October 20-23, 2008 to take formal public comment on the DEIS.

Hydrant Flushing Notice
Chester Water Authority will be flushing all public fire hydrants in Thornbury Township beginning August 28, 2008. Work will be conducted between 9:00 pm and 5:00 am Sunday night through Friday morning to minimize inconvenience to CWA customers. During this time, there may be brief periods when water may become discolored and water pressure may be depressed.

Roadway Maintenance
Notice
For site distance and safety reasons, the Township Public Works Department will be cutting back vegetation along Township roadways a distance of five feet. Residents will receive prior written notification. Work will commence the last week of September and will last approximately two weeks.

Clean Water Action, a national non-profit citizen's lobby, will be doing their annual canvass of the Township in the near future. The door-to-door campaign will include education on specific legislative issues and fundraising for lobbying efforts on the community's behalf. This canvass operates within the Supreme Court-approved hours of 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm Monday through Friday and from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm Saturdays.

Adult mosquito surveillance is being undertaken throughout Delaware County in cooperation with the PA Department of Environmental Protection to track the West Nile Virus. Traps will be set by surveillance personnel in the late afternoon and will be picked up the following morning. All traps should have identification labels and should not be disturbed. Questions?
