Hello Fellow Residents.
We hope that this newsletter finds you happy and healthy. Our township staff is once again working on plans for the summer series at Thornbury Park. Although it will be hard to follow up on last year’s “Grand finale”, we think we have some pretty solid plans. This year’s events will feature several movies, as they have really gained in popularity amongst those that have attended.
In keeping with last year’s plans, the township will feature events at Thornbury Park on the fourth Friday of each month, starting on June 27th and ending on Friday September 26, 2008. Movies will start at dusk and are scheduled for June 27th, July 25th, and September 26th. Makin’ Music will also return by popular demand in August. For those who haven’t enjoyed their interactive show, come out with the children and enjoy and evening of sing along.
On July 25, 2008 in addition to a movie, we will feature the construction of a sand art exhibit by Chuck Feld, a local professional sand sculptor. Mr. Feld has placed five times in the North American Sand Sculpting Championships, and is one of only sixty Master Sand Sculptors. Google “Sand Pounders” to get a first hand view of some of Chuck’s previous works. In addition to creating a masterpiece for all to view in the park, Mr. Feld will give instructions on how to craft that Sand Castle of your children’s dreams. Plenty of sand will be on hand, bring your buckets and shovels and join in the fun.
